Hi, I'm after some advice.

I was feeling a cold coming on last week, but by Friday it was on it's way out so I took my weekly Mxt injection in the evening as usual, honestly I didn't think twice about taking my meds with a small cold. By Saturday morning I felt 10 times worst and had flu like symptoms and still have it now although I feel it is slowly going.

Was I wrong in taking my Mxt, did this exaggerate my cold and if I don't take my Mxt then when? I'm usually very well and so I am a bit taken aback with how this has affected me so badly. All experiences and comments are extremely welcome.

Also should I take my Mtx injection tonight? Although I'm over the worst of it eg up and about, I only feel about 70% better.
Thanks Jillx

Hi Jill

Methotrexate should stop at the first sign of infection and should be delayed until the infection has completely cleared up. Methotrexate suppresses the immune system and the body will be unable to fight the infection. There will probably be enough methotrexate in your system without you noticing RA symptoms and certainly missing a couple of weeks should have little or no effect.

So, no, don't take it tonight!! Hope you feel better soon Smile
